Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
2022 - Present
When I was choosing a graduate program, WGU was not on my list of choices, but it really caught my eye. I am incredibly happy with their program so far, as the curriculum is based on desirable certifications such as the CISSP.

Work Experience
At Columbia University, I worked at the Department of Dermatology as a Research Technician. During this time, I took on a great deal of research projects, and additional responsibilities outside of the research itself. This is where I discovered my passion for I.T.
While my lab had a broad scope of research in dermatology including alopecia and the microbiome, I worked in a very small team that focused on skin cancer. I had an amazing experience working with some of the best researchers in the world. I worked with in vitro and in vivo models, and carried out many different types of experiments ranging from western blots to flow cytometry.
I always pushed myself to learn as many procedures and technologies as possible, as this would both enable my team to become self-sufficient and make us more efficient. Juggling multiple ongoing projects and mentoring undergraduate students, I definitely learned a great deal about project and people management.
